YES!

We have a GREAT (pardon my humility, it's just I've been working around the
clock on this thing for longer than I can remember) program for producing
VRML worlds on a PC. It's entering Beta this week. This is the second
announcement, and we got quite a few responses from the first. We're looking
for serious beta testers who will give us feedback. The fee for the Beta
version is $100. This will include a free copy of the final version of the
program.

If you're interested, please E-maile me. Thanks.

Here's the original announcement:

We're developing a new product which will help immensely making VRML worlds.
It is code named PORTAL. It runs on Windows 3.1 (with Win 32S), Windows NT,
and Windows 95.

PORTAL reads files in the following file formats: Autodesk DXF and 3D Studio
3DS, Wavefront OBJ, VideoScape GEO, and WorldToolKit NFF.

After you've read in a world, you can fly around, add and adjust textures;
move, add, and delete objects; create new basic shapes; color both
individual polygons and entire objects; and adjust, add/delete viewpoints.
Then you export to VRML's .wrl format. It's really simple.

Flying in PORTAL is MUCH faster than with WEBSPACE, and can be accelerated
even further by hardware. PORTAL also accepts several types of 3D and 2D
controllers (SpaceBall, GeoBall, Polhemous, Cyberman, joystick,
SpaceController, and a mouse). It also supports stereo viewing (using
CyberEyes, and CyberScope).

For this Beta PORTAL is being bundled with a very nice vertex/polygon level
3D modeller. The moderller is also in Beta stage, but is already more
complete and robust than many commercially available models.

Final pricing hasn't yet been decided, it will be about $300. We are now
looking for some Beta testers. The beta program will cost $99, and you will
get a final copy of the product. If you are interested please E-mail me (no
phone calls please), and I will send you more information. We will be ready
to ship Beta in one to two weeks.
