I've gone through the draft specification for VRML 1.0. It seems to mostly
be a format for specifying a 3D scene, with hyperlinks triggerable from
objects. At this point with HTML I can include an inline image made in a 3D
modeling program and use it as an image map with clickable hot spots that
are hyperlinked to other pages. How does VRML 1.0 differ from that? Does
the browser allow you to navigate around the scene and see it from
different angles? If so, is that about it as far as differences go (in
1.0)?
Also, I see you can specify cameras in VRML. Can you have more than one
camera? Which camera specifies the initial view, and how are the others
accessed/triggered?
And is there a more detailed descrition/tutorial available for Open
Inventor format than the VRML 1.0 draft specification?
