This seems a bit harsh. If you read TGS's posts and home page, you'll
realize that they *are* working on the non-accelerated version (at
least for the Solaris market). A few days delay in a Beta which is
distributed free is nothing to kvetch about to this level.

It seems entirely likely that they did the port from SGI onto machines
which were running graphics accelerator cards and didn't realize it
would break without them until very late in the game. SNAFU, yes;
deliberate attempt to break our hearts, no.
