The reason I ask is in relation to my employer. I work on the team
of Utah State Universities "Web System". We are in the process of generating
public Kiosks which will be available around campus. Because of how we
desire these Kiosks to work, I have had to alter the source code of the
browser. Because the only descent source code available is Mosaic, we
were forced to use it instead of the more popular Netscape.
If the source code is not going to be available, I would be so humble as
to request following features so that a public Kiosk could be made from
the executable:
* Kiosk Mode enabled with a single flag/x-resource (this is nifty,
but not required)
* Limited functionality. Our Kiosk Mode (which differs from Mosaic
2.5s) varies in that it allows [back][forward] (as Mosaic does)
but also allows you to [reload] and to change the URL.
* Be able to limit URL requests by internet domain. This is the most
important change I made. Any URL pointing outside of the USU.edu
domain is converted to point to a URL on-campus explaining the
intention of the public Kiosks, and that complete web access can be
attained through any of the public computer labs.
