The mime.types file that your server uses needs to have an entry such as:

type=x-world/x-vrml exts=wrl,vrml

and it will transmit it with the correct type.

On that subject, I believe I saw somewhere that we were standardizing on
the suffix ".wrz" for compressed vrml. Is that true? I have implemented
our browser to understand it. It issues a mime type of the form:

type=x-world/x-vrml enc=x-gzip exts=wrz

Of course, if you give the suffix ".wrl.gz" that will work also.
