Er, yes. :) Mostly the latter. USENET group subdivision usually
is useful when the one list gets more than 30-40 messages/day - so that
traffic has to be established first.

I definitely have no plans to remove the list in the event of newsgroup
creation. Even though I'm no longer working for Wired, Wired is still
willing to be the host for it and I'm still willing to do all the backend
dirty work to maintain it. There will need to be a focused forum when
the standards track is begun, so that's what the list should encompass.
I am thinking about moving the web site (http://vrml.wired.com/) to
another site where more hands can help maintain it, though - feedback on
that is welcome (no offers for a home needed, just comments on the
thought of moving it, forwarding references will always be provided).
