Is VRML 1.0 done?

The only issues that rise to the surface as being critical are:

1) Text
2) Compressed Binary
3) MIME types.

Of these, only text is obviously a VRML feature (others are transport
issues).

I believe there is no concensus on text (messages, bitmap, 2d geom, 3d geom)
(Do we do the right thing and specify Unicode?) Perhaps, picking an
extension
that is not part of the "standard" is best for now.

At this point, it is less important what is actually in 1.0 than that "we"
present a
coherent message that it is done and project a coherent story of what will
come
next and when.

Mark Pesce, Gavin Bell and Tony Parisi have gotten us this far. They should
just
declare VRML 1.0 done, IMHO.

Then we can get on to the fun stuff.
