Yeah, sorry. I added a clarification to the VRML 1.0 spec about this,
based on this (common) experience with WebSpace and other browsers.
Basically, when texturing the underlying Material's diffuseColor should
be ignored-- the texture should essentially supply the diffuseColors
across the polygons.
The next version of WebSpace will do what you want it to do (use the
Material's diffuseColor only when not texturing). So you'll get pretty
materials when untextured, and pretty textures when textured.
