Apology.

I wish to apologize for what may have been
a hasty and misinformed flame on my part--the subject
in question is the role of government in the development
of VRML, particularly, standardization.

The gist of the message, as I saw it, was a
harbinger of the encroachment of the government into
a process that appears to be developing and progressing
in a very healthy and robust manner.

I feel that many government procedures can be
accompanied by an inordinate amount of bureacratic
wastefulness and paperwork, as opposed to the more
lean, creative, nimble and adroit programmers working
for highly competitive companies, and the helpful
input from beta testers, hobbyist's, and enthusiasts
who don't just do this as some dull, tedious job from
a grey office among ranks of other grey offices, but
who really enjoy lending their creativity and innovation
that fosters accelerated growth and development of VRML.

I also apologize for the inappropriate ad hominem
overtones on my part.

On another note, I do feel that this topic should
be addressed in some forum (that of the U.S. government
and VRML R+D) and would appreciate being directed to such
a forum.

Thanks for esading this.

Yours,

-Jon Bazemore
