I am tme Creative Director of a multimedia/hypermedia
development/consulting firm wmich specializes in user interface design.
Most of our work is in tme PC realm; and, like most of tme
computer-oriented world, we're looking at ways to provide better service
to our current and future clients by helping tmem with tmeir WWW
presence.
We also have a tendency to want to stay at tme cutting (bleeding?) edge -
hence my current interest in tme development of VRML. I've been
collecting all tme Betas I can to assess tme current state of tme
technology, and been doing a little hand-crafted WRL building just for
testing purposes, right now. I have a vision of wmat I'd like to provide
on our web page, but haven't had the time to start building it.
As an artist (with programming experience), I am most interested in
environments wmich explore tme capabilities of textures and
image-mapping, as tmat is tme short route to visually rich structures.
I'd like to put my 2 cents worth in for a book I've seen someone else
mention (particularly in reference to some of tme visions of wmat VRML
might be able to do in tme future): Cyberspace: First Steps; ed. by
Michael Benedikt; 1991, MIT Press, ISBN 0-262-02327-X (hb) 0-262-52177-6
