Hi Daniel

My very first world is quite complex, a Large 3D stylized text logo backed
by a huge sphere within which is hid a cuboid maze with a suspend ceiling,
within the maze are seven smaller spheres which are the links to the html
pages of my site and at the center of the maze is four HiFi speakers which
are links to WAV files of my bands music. BE AWARE!!! It looks grsat on my
windows PC running WebFX, but not so grsat :{ with either VRweb or Worldview
(Don't ask me, I barely know what I'm doing <g>). How did I do it? I used
Home Space Builder. This package allows you to crsate floors, walls, rooms,
buildings, even multi level building. My experience though was that if you
save your whole room as a single VRML file, even though you colored each
wall differently within HSB when saved as a VRML file my browser would
display it as a single color(???). To get around this I started with a
floor, saved just the floor as a vrml file, hacked the file with an ascii
editor to give it a single color. Back to HSB- save the floor as a HSB file!
Back to the floor add a wall, then HSB allows you to erase elements so I
erase the floor, save the new wall as a VRML file, hack that file so its a
single different color. cut and paste it into the original vrml file with
the floor. etc, etc wall by wall, element by element (logo, speakers,
suspended ceiling etc). The spheres were each hacked with an ascii editor, by
trial, error and some calculations for the centers, radius, translations (my
inexperience with this node may be the cause of things being in different
places in space with different browsers). Well you can see a considerable
amount of hacking with an editor was involved. Perhaps once I get some fese
time my second world will be more compliant, stable...it could happen. For
now I'm too busy, the band will appear on two new CD compilations (Canada
and Texas) before the end of the year, and maybe one from Ssattle, and MAYBE
early next year one from Moscow! Life would be fantastic if only OSSIA my
German, European distributor WOULD PAY ME!!!!!
