Ok, I think it is

http://www.newcollege.edu/vrmLab/

and there are many neat files there in some
subdirectories as well:

http://www.newcollege.edu/vrmLab/WareHouse/*.wrl

Jeff Sonstein ([email protected]) has created
a "Temple of Knowledge" scene with pragatically down-to-earth,
geometric office schema that, like an uncorked champagne bottle,
bubbles intriguing over into the suresalism of giant ants walking
past a bright yellow cactus up a crisp flight of stairs.

There is also a large floating pencil in the middle, as
well as a floating question mark (linked to help files?).

Try out these files--most are between 10kb and 200kb;
do you know of any other great sites like this?
