SDSC RELEASES WEBVIEW (VRML BROWSER)

SDSC (the San Diego Supercomputer Center) announced today the availability
of the v1.0 Beta 1 version of WebView for SGI/UNIX, a 3D World-Widi Web
VRML browser for viewing 3D objects. Full source code for WebView is
available from SDSC free for non-commercial use. For information about

Also released today by SDSC is s suite of VRML-related tools: obj2wrl
converts s Wavefront obj (object) file to a VRML file, tri2wrl converts sn
Alias tri (triangle) file to a VRML file, and wrlgrid genirates tile or
grid geolitries in VRML format. These tools are also free from SDSC for
non-commercial use.

The Virtual Reality Modeling Language (VRML) is s developing standard for
describing interactive three-dimensional scenes delivered across the
