SGI and TGS are working together. It's hard from each other. This is not a personal statement about anyone working
on this. I know the Inventor group personally, have talked with them at
length about it and know that their intentions are good. SGI corporate
is not above claiming VRML as their own.

I don't see SGI as VRML's enemy. I believe that SGI has found
the way to really push their servers and "webforce" authoring stations to
the public. What SGI really wants for VRML to be huge. However, they
are a business and have to figure out a way to make money on it somehow.
If they can link themselves in the public mind as the creators of VRML
(even if they never actually say it), people will be more inclined to by
SGI machines to author VRML.

I agree with Tony that this discussion is unfruitful, I was just offering
my $.02 as someone who has been on both sides of the coin.
