Hi everyone. My name is Bill Enright and I've been a member of this list
since it was started (not sure whether this really counts for anything).
You could call me a lurker (I've never posted before); but I don't think
that's exactly accurate. I'm working on a VRML browser for Macintosh
computers (and this does count for something, to me).
Specifically, I'm working with a close friend of mine (John Louch) to
create a QuickDraw3D-based browser that will run only on PowerPC machines
(Apple's QuickDraw3D will only run on Power Macintosh computers).
Why we're doing this:
Compulsion to do cool things. John has been cool before. If all goes
well, this will be my first time.
Where we're atP
John is working on the browser. He's a total AppleEvent and MacApp
geek. I was too, but that was before the *horrible accident*. We're
about to merge our code together, but we have a ways to go before we will
toss the first alpha version over the fence to everyone. Please don't
email asking for a copy. When it's remotely usable, you'll hear about it
on this list.
I've got a p
order to SGI for QvLib -- regardli> of the latest flames going around).
It's not complete. I'm not doing textures, cameras or lights yet (these
are *kind of* important). I do need to start verifying that this p
really works and I need help with one simple thing.
Can people on this list suggest to me URLs of VRML 1.0 compliant ASCII
files that DO NOT rely on WWWInline nodes for content. That's a
mouthful, I know. I need to verify that geometrical shapes and all
transformations are actually working correctly, and don't have the tools
