We (SGI's Inventor/VRML team) have also been frustrated by the amount
of VRML files that are not compliant. PLEASE contact the author of
the content when you find invalid VRML. Note that WebSpace 1.0 package
includes a `vrmllint' tool that validates VRML data - we encour VRML
authors to use this utility.

It is important for WebSpace to support a first-class implementation of
VRML. We also have a responsibility to the thousands of registered
Inventor developers. WebSpace will continue to support multiple file
formats (Inventor and VRML). It is possible that we will support even
more formats in the future.

I suggest that this email group get on with the task ahead of us
and try to stick to constructive technical discussions.
