my "first cut" code is often sloppy... I saw the error of my mistakes, and
removed (I think) the stupid scoping tricks from the filing cabinet. now it
shows up in the right place in both browsers, but something **still** seems
to leave a sort of ectoplasmic "trail" behind... perhaps from som>
translation operation?? the "trail" used to block the view of part of the
wrench, but now the "trail" is much smaller.
okay, so I probably have a scoping/inheritance problem with

It turns out that WorldView always has the "headlight" **on** (as far as I

I hope these postings about my little "testbed" scene

has the headlamp **off** and the "headlamp" choice in the menues is

okay in WebSpace. I had to wait forever to see it, but that's another story...

beat one scene to death, both to find the bugs ("that's not a bug, that's a
feature!!") and pitfalls in coding vrml, and to explore the differences
between browsers.
