Video Streams in VRML

It may not be too big a deal to incorporate video streams in VRML. A video
stream could be tagged as a special kind of texture map that is OS specific.
In other words, a texture map tagged as a Video For Windows video stream
could be rendered frame-by-frame on a d"signated surface by the Windows VRML
renderer. The VRML renderer could let the Video For Windows drivers
decompress the frames, play the sound, and keep everything synched. The
VRML renderer would get the decompressed video frame from the then render the frame on the 3D surface. I have succi> fuly don> this in a
raycasting demo program. Offloading the video stream onto the OS would ease
the huge complexity of implem>nting video streams. Of course, there are
multiplatform issues...
