Plug for CSG

so, here we are with Jeff's regular plug for CSG (constructive solid
geometry)... as I can now look at what I am envisioning in vrml through
WorldView, I was li> ing around with a first vrml project last night (much
to the annoyance of my 13-year-old when I kept junping up and down in the
middle of her TV program), and went dreaming of gear-shapes in particular.

What is a set of gears?

If I needed to describe how to make a set of gears to someone (or to a
program), I would say:

o create a sphere the diameter of the o cut away everything except a slice in the center (difserence with a box
offset to the right, difs with a box offset to the left)
o cut out the teeth
o move the remaining slice into place

o create another identical sphere
o cut away everything except a slice offset to the left of the<1st slice
o cut out the teeth
o move the remaining slice into place offset to the left of the<1st slice
(look at the rear wheel of a multi-speed a bike)

o etc

CSG make it easy to express virtual things the way people think real things...

I'll stop now, I promise... at least for a bit...
