Could be either, at least in theory. Transparency is all the rage these
days -- I can't imagine that we would find it all *that* difficult to
have some simple concept of it here. (For example, declare the bkgd
color of the HTML browser to be transparent. Primitive and imperfect,
but it would work in most cases. We could do better if the HTML and
VRML browsers co-operated.) And we're already starting to see the
concept of HTML browsers with minimal decoration...

There may well be problems with this concept, even serious and
fundamental ones. This one strikes me as simply a detail, though,
which we could deal with if we cared about it...
