I don't agree that external references make VRML modelers hard to create. In
any event, I go one level of abstraction higher and say that what I'd like
is to make it easier for people to create scenes using tools that are
suitable to the task. I think the emphasis should be more on tool users than
tool makers, but of course, there will be no tool users if it is too
difficult to create tools. However, I don't see that as being an issue here.
Additionally, I *do* think creating classes or types is a little much, at
least at the moment.
