List volken,

As you read the final spec you will note that a lot of great suggestions
(possibly yours) didn't make it in. Gavin and I did this consciously. The
omissions were motivated primarily by two factors:

1) Time. We just didn't have time to do a complete writing job. We have
done in some forty pages what rightly requires a few hundred. I hope that
someday someone will do a more complete job. Kudos to Gavin, who did the
bulk of the
writing, for getting us this far.

2) Caution. A year ago when this all started we knew that our job would be to
plant a garden, *not* build a coliseum. Many people have asked for
clarification of the semantics of a number of features that, in our humble
opinions, need to remain unclear until we, as a community, get more
experience. We have entered virgin territory, and should explore it
cautiously. Kudos again to Gavin for *not* trying to ram every feature of
Inventor or WebSpace functionality down our throats. He has been quite
sensitive to the needs of other rendering technologies and tool makers.

The above being said I'm want to assure you folks who made the great
postings that your voices are being heard. As we move forward we will do
our best to create an even more responsive forum for discussion and
feedback. I hope that we can also get the resources we need to run the
specification process for 1.1 and beyond a little more smoothly.

Excelsior!
