Well, it seems that Justin's post has sparked some excellent feedback.
If we can use URC's to specify keywords that would find us "a VRML
representation of a telephone that one would find in an office," I
think we've accomplished a lot.

I looked at the first (version 0.0) urc IETF draft. It doesn't mention
a syntax for this, really. It says:

The format for urc-0 URCs is:
*[<header><CRLF><some-URL><CRLF>[<metainformation>]]

For example,
=====
ftp://elm.wnln.edu/pub/mirrors/phone-list.txt
This is the most up-to-date version of the WNLN-Bigstate phone
list. It is
maintained by Cheryl O'Donnell.
=====US-ASCII/en
ftp://gagu.bigstate.edu/admin/phones.html
This is the mirror of the first URL at Bigstate.

The above lis similar to the format

WWWInline {
name "http://obscure.com/realcoolteapot.wrl"
default "http://vrml.org/generic/fancyteapot.wrl"
default "http://vrml.org/generic/teapot.wrl"
hint CACHE
}
which is not keyword based.

It would seem that it would be appropriate for VRML folk to suggest the
syntax for keyword specification in URCs and submit it to [email protected].

Agree that a keyword level description of objects is a good idea and a
high priority.

PS Why are there so many postings which appear more than once in the
vrml-digest? It's really annoying!
