SPEC - Hello, I'm alive; let's do it

Sorry about the delay on the spec. I've been down with the flu for the last
few days.

I'm going to make the final edits to the spec in the next day or so. I will
put up a list of my proposed edits in a forthcoming message for everyone's
review.

Looking over the comments on the spec, I see the requested changes falling
into two categories: 1) minor edits and clarifications, such as describing
the semantics of the Transform node 2) major edits- e.g. additional prose
to describe things like lighting models. I plan to include things from the
former category and exclude those from the latter. The reason is simple:
time. We all want this spec to get done! (Problem is, the people
responsible for writing the spec are all in a crunch to put out viewers.)
We need to expedite the spec, and fill in the holes later. I suggest we put
category #2 things into a FAQ over the next few months, and incorporate the
FAQ information into the version 1.1 spec.

By the way, in case my message wasn't received earlier, the functionality of
1.0 is *frozen*. Any functionality not in the spec will be done as
"standard extensions" or wait until 1.1

thanks
