[Webspace]
To install "inst" software for SGI in a place different than "/"
(that's somewhere in the SGI FAQ) :
mkdir /tmp/tmproot
swmgr -f `pwd` -r /tmp/tmproot

to install webspace in this place (and then copy the webspace and
netscape binaries somewhere else), I first had to let swngr believe
that i already had installed inventor_eoe in /tmp/tmproot by doing:
mkdir /tmp/tmproot/var
mkdir /tmp/tmproot/var/inst
ln -s /var/inst/* /tmp/tmproot/var/inst

maybe there's another way to override dependency checking in swmgr,
but I didn't find it.

I really don't like the way SGI distributes software, all the Indyzone
CDs are also in "inst" format and will only run in /usr (thus you have
to be root to install them), why don't they just give tar files
containing the executables and a configurable makefile ?

Anyway, I really love Webspace.

[quadMeshes]
By the way, I vote for the introduction of the quadMesh node in the
next VRML release, mainly because many scientific data and results can
be presented as elevation maps, and I want to use VRML to show my
results in computer vision (take a look at the 3-D reconstruction of a
human face at
