Somehow we got off on the subject of WorldsAway, and nobody responded to
Eric Olinger's invitation to visit Worlds(tm)Chat. I went out and had a
look, and was impressed. The look/feel is basically DOOM without a
trigger (perhpas they should add a "battle zone" for when you get tired
of conversation, or can't settle an argument any other way...). Very
responsive (on a '486/66). I suspect it uses very little band-width,
since there were folks scurrying all over the place who were connected
by modem. The entire database of avatars and rooms/portals resides in
the client app, so only movement/orientation of avatars and conversation
gets transmitted.

I can think of all sorts of fun and useful features to add in future
revs. But for a first cut at it, this is impressive.

Now who's going to be the first elitist ;>) SGI user to scoff at this
low-end toy?
