A reply to those saying VRML and the VRML proposal aren't infosystems:

An infosystem is in the eye of the beholder. Show me a serious artist
who is just in it for the pretty pictures -- if you can find one. We're
all trying to communicate -- to pass information. Just because it's not
lists of text doesn't mean it's not inherently informative.

Color, texture, space -- these are all implicitly information, and will
be used as such. This isn't about graphics, it's not about rendering
languages, it's about new media and communicating in elemental ways that
the Web as it stands today doesn't allow.
