The big VRML list discussions about URN/URI/URC/UR? are theoretically
interesting but probably premature in practical terms. This
has been a subject of much debate in the WWW community for a while.
Even if technical consensus is emerging, usage is rare or nonexistent.

I recommend we defer the whole series of other-than-URL issues until something
is really working around the web. The excitement of building virtual worlds
may kid us into thinking we can solve all of the world's problems at once...
