I, having thought about it a little more realized something. With 2, we can
have 1, but with 1 it's a lot harder to have 2.
reasoning:
If I want to create a Berkeley street. I can create it at my site and
just establish the links to each of the different berkeley places. Then I can
tell everyone else: hey, here is the definitive berkeley site. Look here if
you are looking for something in Berkeley. This also makes it convenient if I
don't want to be part of the "berkeley" site for whatever reason. I don't have
to apply to get a space there, I just don't put myself there. If I want a
globe, I can create it (or get together with other people and create it), but
if I don't want to be part of it, I don't have to be.
The more I think about this "world" map idea the less I like it. who owns it?
who manages it? who is the mayor? I feel like it's a bad departure from the
way that the net, and the web work currently.
