1. Responses received to original announcement
We have received about 55 responses to our invitation to date. 5 of those
were requests to be kept informed via the mailing list. The 50 or so remaining
messages were confirmation of attendance. Here is the list of respondents
(there are less than 50 here because some respondents pledged additional
attendees whose names were not specifically listed):

Western WorldWideWeb Weaver's Waggle (W^6)
(Software Interest Group on Distributed Information Systems)

The UCSF Center for Knowledge Management will be hosting the first
in a series of monthly meetings focusing on the development of the
WorldWideWeb and other distributed information systems such as Gopher and
WAIS. This event is open to Web enthusiasts of all persuasions; we hope
to cultivate a sophisticated community of users, authors, and developers.
If you are writing Web software or documents, or are just generally interested
in distributed information systems, please email [email protected] to let
us know you'll be coming.
This initial meeting will feature a talk on SGML given by Terry Allen,
Editor of O'Reilly & Associates Digital Media Group. The rest of the time
will be devoted to being excited about the whole thing and perhaps getting
organized (deciding on future meeting dates, locations, and topics).
