Further to this, when I've collated all this info, I'll post a summary and
a PERL script that tests the HTTP User Agent value!

This will probably a subroutine that returns an integer:

0 == plain text only (no in-line GIFs, etc

1 == "standard" HTML (1.0 or 2.0 -- which?). This will be the value
returned if the browser type is not recognised.

2 == "standard" HTML + HTML 3.0 tables

3 == full HTML 3.0

I have intentionally omitted "HTML + Netscape specific extensions" as I don't
consider this to be a "standard" dialect of HTML!
