Hi,
Sorry if this question is not appropriate to this group. But I need youru
help and expertise.

Does anyone know of a script that will check for user id and password
before executing or reading a homepage? Simmilar to what some companies
and News papers are doing. I need this script to allow or denny those
whithout an account.

Also, I'm looking for a script that will take those register users and
add them automatically to a database, so we could use this database to
send a mass email to those register users for a new annoucment or some-
thing like that.

Question, how can I tell if I'm using html 2.0 or 1.0 or .....
and where can I get the up to date html
